According to the Puranas, there are 5 mountains which are recognised and worshipped as Kailash, namely Kailash Mansarovar (Tibet), Mani Mahesh Kailash (Himachal Pradesh), Kinnaur Kailash (Himachal Pradesh), Shrikhand Kailash (Himachal Pradesh), and Adi Kailash (Uttarakhand).
Out of the day, Adi Kailash has almost equal importance and reverence as Kailash Mansarovar. Situated in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, close to the Indo-Tibetan border, at an altitude of 6,310 metres, it is in fact considered the second Mount Kailash. Adi Kailash is also referred to as Shiva Kailash, Chhota Kailash, Baba Kailash or Jonglingkong Peak. Today, it is a popular pilgrimage for every Shiva devotee. And Mount Adi Kailash is an ancient holy place for Hindus in the Kumaon Himalayas.

Om Parvat is one of the biggest highlights of Adi Kailash. According to the legends, there are only eight mountains in India, which has an impression of OM symbol. Parvati Lake

At the bottom of the peak exists a lake, known as Gaurikund, which beautifully mirrors the Adi Kailash. Parvati Sarovar (also known as Manasarovar) is another lake near the peak. It is much smaller than its namesake (Manasarovar Lake, Tibet). Near the shoreline stands a shrine of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
